 My blog is getting a makeover! The Make One Choice blog is now becoming the  Live In His Word blog! I am so glad you are here! As I was beginning to get back to work on this blog I knew it was time for a name change. There are so many cutesy names out there that might be fun. I could have just used my name- but who can spell that? I mean it took me two years after I got married to be able to spell it correctly. I decided to look at what I am passionate about and go from there. So my passions- studying the Word of God and verse mapping/Bible Journaling. I love to dig in when I study the Word. It is so easy to read the Bible because it is what we are supposed to do. We read a Bible plan and get our checkmark for the day and we are good. The Bible is so much more than a checkmark for being good!

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.  God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

 When we take the time to study the Bible, to really dig in and see what it says it will improve our life. It will teach us, correct us, prepare, and equip us! It can turn our moments of hopelessness into moments of hope. Times of sorrow into seasons of joy. When we are discouraged, it can encourage us! That is my hope for this blog! That you will be encouraged by the devotionals and inspired to dig into
the Word yourself through verse mapping/Bible journaling. Again, I am so glad you are here!

  I love to be surrounded by lovely things. I think as women we tend to want to surround ourselves with things that we see as lovely. I had a friend who could see the lovely in everything. She would write and tell me how lovely the sky was that morning. She would witness the birth of a baby animal and see it as lovely. We all find things that we see as lovely, and they may not all be the same things. If you haven’t guessed by now, our word that we are focusing on this week is lovely. In the Aramaic translation, it says precious. So we are to be thinking thoughts that are lovely and precious. All of the things I mentioned are things that we see around us and things we might think are precious or lovely. Did you know that God thinks of thoughts that are precious and lovely too? In Psalm 139 we find what God thinks about as precious, and you know what he is thinking about? What is Truth?

Last week I talked about how God keeps in perfect peace those whose thoughts are fixed on Him. Over the next several weeks I want to look at ways that we keep our minds fixed on God. Philippians 4:8 says “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (NLT)  This week we are going to focus on the word true. When you look up the Greek for this word it is “an actual occurrence. Of God, or loving the truth and speaking the truth.” First I want to focus on the thought that truth is an ACTUAL occurrence. How often do we fix our thoughts on things that haven’t happened and might not happen? We play the what-if game. What if I start a new job and I hate it? Worthy

          Not too long ago, I was driving down the road and began praying. This particular prayer stands out to me because as I was praying I caught myself saying, “God help me to be worthy of your love.” Suddenly, as fast as I said that, I had this realization that I was wrong. I realized that what I was really asking, was for God to help me make my behavior perfect enough that He could accept me and love me more.             You see- I have always been the “good girl”. I hate- I mean really hate being in trouble or having anyone think badly of me. If there was a rule, I wanted to stay five feet this side of the line to make sure I didn’t accidentally almost think about looking at the line and risk the wrath of God or someone in authority.
